Sevenhill was founded by Jesuit priests 170 years ago who fled persecution and settled in South Australia. Like many religious orders at the time, they were instrumental in the worldwide development of wine. The distribution of sacramental wine was a key practice that expanded into commercial wines some 60 years ago to grow revenue and fund Jesuit missions and activities.
Sevenhill’s limited release range called The Saints, which honours the founders of the Jesuits, St Francis Xavier and St Ignatius.
Every bottle of Sevenhill features a journey line that takes the consumer all the way back to 1851 when Sevenhill was founded, then brings them back to the present moment, to the vintage they are holding in their hand, for The Saints, presented in luxe gold foil.
Each label is further embellished with a unique pattern relating to the symbolic rank of each Saint, often worn as ceremonial vestments within the church.
