Giorgione, il FregioOtium

The volume “Giorgione. Il Fregio” is an updated interpretation of Giorgione’s fresco present in Castelfranco Veneto at the Museum Casa Giorgione, for the first time accompanied by very high resolution images in an overall view that allow the reader to better capture the voice of the Frieze. The Frieze is a rediscovered work that many scholars attribute to Giorgione: 16 meters of frieze in which the artist – perhaps – announced the arrival of a fatal time of wars and pestilence, never as current as in these 20s of the XXI century. The book is composed by three parts – each one with a different kind of paper chosen according to the contents: – a leporello, sheltered in a pocket placed in the inside front cover, shows for the first time the frieze in a linear reproduction that serves as guide for the main two parts of the book; a photographic part related to the details of the frieze pictured in high resolution and a textual part explains the meaning of the opera.
