“Les lettres sont de belles manières de voyager” is a graphic project that is part of the commissioned work for the construction of the extension of the Maurice Genevoix high school in Ingré (Centre-Val de Loire region). The project is based on the creation of a family of typefaces designed for the residents of the high school. To support the project and show these alphabets in use, various objects and graphic interventions, at different scales, are produced.
This edition presents the project and the creative process of the work, revealing its different stages, research, and production with an emphasis on the typographic creation called “Genevoix,” named after the high school. The 52-booklet is offset printed in 3 spot colors (including 1 fluorescent and 1 silver) with 8 four-color pages. One additional page is printed on a one-color offset machine I run. On the cover and back cover, geometrical forms are cut out, revealing the flap and color.
