Via Appia - La strada che ci ha insegnato a viaggiareVisiOnAir di Daniele Zendroni
The Via Appia is the most famous Roman road and the first ever built in the history of humanity. This route, dating back to 312 BC, winds out of the Eternal City and crosses the southern regions of Italy until it reaches the port city of Brindisi, covering a distance of approximately 650 kilometers.
The photographic documentation of this invaluable heritage was carried out by photographer Andrea Frazzetta over the course of 6 months, during which he walked the entire route. The result was a reportage published by National Geographic Magazine in 40 countries and translated into 33 languages. Today, it has become a book that retraces the entire journey and is published with the participation of the Parco Regionale dell’Appia Antica on the occasion of the nomination of the Via Appia as a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
