Crane Lake Cabernet Sauvignon Vintage 99 Label

The objective of this label design and print production was to revitalize and reposition the Crane Lake brand. Designer Kurt Gonsalves was tasked with preserving the brand’s heritage while updating both the visual elements and its connection to the land where the wine is produced. The Sandhill crane, which is now featured in the design, was chosen after extensive research, as it migrates through California and nests in wine’s the vineyards. Kurt incorporated a high-quality sculpted emboss, enhanced with silver foil hot stamping and detailed shadow relief. Vintage 99 Label collaborated closely with Bronco Wine Company’s design and marketing teams to refine various levels of print detail and shadowing applied over the silver foil. A key element in achieving the final design was Kurt’s selection of Fedrigoni’s Sorolla. The paper’s uncoated, vellum texture provided an upscale feel while offering the perfect surface for the label’s intricate details.
