Competing Projects 2025
Nature's Gift: A book for seed explorersUniversity of Westminster
This project is based on the ISTD brief Joybringer, which highlights the alarming fivefold increase in student mental illness since 2010—a trend likely to continue.
To address this, I designed a book to encourage teenagers to explore the outdoors—whether in parks, forests, or their neighborhoods—and develop a meaningful hobby. Focusing their free time on seed collection and gardening helps them reconnect with nature, find balance, and experience a sense of accomplishment.
The book guides readers on collecting, planting, and cultivating seeds through simple steps and techniques. It also includes a unique third chapter with bookmark-style inserts featuring background information, colors, and habitats of ten common plants, helping readers identify them during outdoor exploration.
I also designed seed envelopes and bookmarks featuring ten different plants to assist with outdoor seed collection.
