Memoriale is a reinterpretation of the archive theme in the form of a game-installation, a space where the forgotten takes on a new guise to blend with the new.
The paper-based game consists of a collection of identification cards for the works present in the archive of the Venice Biennale, visually encoded to serve as a new navigation tool. Through the comparison of simple visual codes, such as shapes, colors, and layouts, participants discover and memorize the various categories of works in the Visual Arts section exhibited in the years 2001, 2005, and 2009. Currently, Memoriale contains 2260 works.
