Competing Projects 2025

I Manifesti Olimpici, dal 1912 al 1996Università IUAV di Venezia

The project explores the communicative power of official Olympic posters, focusing on the evolution of graphic design throughout the 21st century. The posters, in addition to promoting the Games, serve as reflections of the social, political, and cultural changes of different eras, acting as true visual documents capable of capturing the spirit of the times. The research is based on the analysis of 17 works selected for their historical and artistic value, accompanied by an in-depth study that integrates primary and secondary sources to contextualize their meaning. Each poster is placed within a chronological framework, highlighting its graphic transformations and underlying messages, offering an overview of stylistic and cultural evolution. The project aims to celebrate the role of design as a tool for historical storytelling, capable of translating the universal values of the Games into a timeless, global visual language.
