This book offers readers an overview of the activity of the Portuguese Constitutional Court. It focuses on a selection of cases extracted from the jurisprudence of the Court in the last forty years — from medically assisted reproduction to amendments to the Labour Code, from metadata to abortion, from unjustified enrichment to the referendum on regionalization — which were particularly relevant for Portuguese people. The book also aims to show how the Constitutional Court interacts with the political community of which it is a part.
