They look forTina De Souter Bookdesign
‘They look for animals, but all they find are trees’ is the second photography book for Belgian designer and photographer Stijn Van der Linden.
During his excursion to the national parks of Costa Rica, he noticed how all the other visitors were mostly interested in spotting animals, but all that Stijn saw, were trees. The vast diversity of the plant kingdom didn’t interest anyone, while that is the sole focus of Stijn’s photographic series in this book.
The beautiful green cover is printed with white ink using silkscreen printing. The book is bound using an Otastar binding in which 2 softcovers are glued together. On this 2nd brown cover you will discover the subtitle embossed with brown hotfoil. The book is full of ‘printing eye-candy’. For example, experiments were carried out with margins, 2 different types of paper alternating with eachother, picture-in-picture technique, shorter pages, etc. Leaving the reader to a search for these special details. So they also ‘look for’…
