Remember who you once wereTina De Souter Bookdesign
This black and white, delicate publication is the first photobook for Dutch/Belgian photographer Elizabeth Alderliesten.
She writes: “At some point you wake up and feel in everything that you have become alienated from yourself. Do you leave it that way out of fear or do you dare to search for your hidden self? Searching for your true self is the beginning of a transformation, allowing you to reconnect with who you once were.”
The result is a mysterious flow of images, each page feeling more distant, yet intimate than the next. The book is printed on wafer-thin 70gr Arena paper. It is bound using a Japanese stab binding and each page is Japanese folded. The books were printed in a limited edition of only 150 copies and all bound by hand using grey thread.
