SymbioseStaatliche Akademie der Bildenden Künste Stuttgart

This publication is the final diploma documentation of textile designer Felicitas Pfister. The subtitle ‘A personal and biographical journey through the blurred boundaries of art and textile design’ already points to the core theme of her diploma thesis, the fundamental question of the distinguishability between art and design. The overall design of the book reflects this ‘symbiosis’ by combining graphic elements with artistic ones. The dust jacket is made of Savile Row Tweed paper in the 200g aubergine variant, which reflects both the textile character and the color scheme of her works. Additionally, it has been screen-printed on by hand and displays some abstract forms of Felicitas’ textile work. The use of a flap cover and lay-flat binding, combined with the chosen color, brings these motifs out even more clearly. Inside, Old Mill Bianco paper in 130g was used. The printing and binding was done at Muellerprint Stuttgart, the cover printing and the binding I did myself at our academy
