Imagemaking/Screenprinting projectweek with 3rd year students design graphique, at École Nationale Supérieure de Arts Décoratifs Paris (ENSAD, aka Art Deco), April 24-28, 2023 and April 22-26, 2024.
The projects is initiated by Dirk Behage, teacher at the graphic design department.
Intertwining the positive with the negative, layering opaque and transparent colours on top of coloured paper, throughout the week, a series of unexpected printing results is being created. The waterbased screenprinting process allows for experimentation and playing. Highly pigmented screenprinting inks on rich and heavy Fedrigoni paper do the rest. Serendipity is key.
At the end of the week, all students pick their favorite sheets, and compile a unique edition that is full of ideas for future projects.
