Ševčík Academy Ševčíkův institut, z.s.

The Czech-American Ševčík Academy was founded in 2018 to educate talented young musicians, support the culture in the regions and promote the work of Otakar Ševčík, one of the most important music pedagogues, who at the end of the 19th century and the beginning of the 20th century played an important role in Bohemia and the USA. The output of the academy is presented to the public, who can attend masterclasses, seminars and concerts. Horažďovice, Ševčík’s birth town, provides an ideal background in the form of hotels, halls, practice rooms and picturesque surrounding nature.
To its students, the Ševčík academy offers an opportunity to work under the mentorship of an international team of lecturers and to attend a rich accompanying program. All the activities take place in picturesque Horažďovice and its surroundings.
