Magnetite is a photographic book about Lido degli Estensi, a sea town between the more famous Venice and Rimini. The photos by English street photographer Charlie Kwai provide a glimpse into this lesser-explored region of Italy by showcasing its beauty and rituals, shaped by the people who frequent its shoreline. Charlie collaborated with creative director Marco Minzoni, who has a deep affiliation with the Lido, a place that has been a part of his life since childhood. The book is a coming together of Charlie’s approach and pursuits in photography with Marco’s intimate connection to the Lido. Magnetite aims for the reader to fully immerse in the world of Lido degli Estensi. By presenting 133 images in rapid sequence, from day to night and back again, the reader experiences the Lido in the same way they would in real life.
