Cão Danado - Single-Varietal Safarispoon House of Design
Cão Danado wine is a tribute to the grape variety that makes it special: Tinto Cão. This native variety from the Douro region is known for being quite a challenge to work with, as it ripens later and often doesn’t produce the highest yields. Because of the effort needed to create an exceptional wine from this grape, we wanted to celebrate its uniqueness with a captivating name.
To bring this homage to life, we took the idea to the bottle label, where we flipped the narrative by illustrating a dog with an image typically linked to sweet and friendly pups, rather than the usual fierce portrayal. The journey of “taming” this grape variety has been a rewarding challenge, and the end result is simply perfect. The name also refers to a popular expression that translates to “naughty dog,” capturing the bold and distinctive spirit of the wine.
It may have a temperamental side, but thankfully, it doesn’t bite!
