Musée de la Chasse et de la Naturepassages

“Cabinet of graphic curiosities”
The new visual identity of the Musée de la Chasse et de la Nature is designed by “passages”, a collective of three graphic designers: Benoit Brient, Benjamin Devy and Jules Philippe.
It is based on the desire to transcribe what shapes this unique place: its very special atmosphere, a mix of refinement and eccentricity.
The GT Alpina typeface is associated in a modular and functional system–a “frame” that protects and enhances–with a specific graphic ornaments library: framings, patterns and vignettes. These graphic ornaments are renewed at each event, according to the context of use.
In addition to fine art papers and quality printing processes, the development of this “cabinet of graphic curiosities”–designed in contrast with many visual identities of contemporary art institutions–helps revealing the artistic dimension (artisanal, classic and contemporary) of this place and its associated imaginaries.
