Humanitas. Il cerchio della vitaMichela Eccli
“Humanitas” is an artist’s book that explores the cycle of human life in 68 leporello-folded pages, transforming into a sculpture suspended in space. Over 8 meters long, it represents the circle of life, evoking the cycle of birth, growth, and transformation of humans. Each phase, from birth to old age, is depicted through drawings and photographs illustrating human changes. The contrast between the black and white photography and the intense colors of the illustrations reflects the complexity of the human experience. The mirrored surfaces integrate the viewer into the life cycle, inviting them to see themselves in the work. Made on Fedrigoni Splendorgel paper, chosen for its moisture resistance and ecological sustainability, the work uses pop-up effects and die-cuts. Although conceived as a unique piece, it is designed for industrial reproduction.
