Graphisme en France n°30Louise Garric
Anniversary issue of the magazine Graphisme en France, published for 30 years by the Centre national des arts plastiques (Cnap). In this issue, Olivier Huz revisits the notion of public utility graphic design, Vivien Philizot traces the evolution of graphic design research, and Étienne Mineur tackles the issue of artificial intelligence. The magazine’s design was conceived as a series of sequences, punctuated by colors, formats and papers. For each contribution, a specific color was chosen, working the close link between text and images. The calendar of events – organized throughout the year in France – frames the whole on insert pages. Particular attention was paid to typography: the Pachinko typeface (designed by Émilie Rigaud) was used to create the cover and opening pages in the form of ascii art. This issue was conceived as a light, flexible object with multiple materials, a joyful object celebrating 30 years of graphic design in France!
