Competing Projects 2025

Michele Mari’s imperative, “Hold, hold, hold, hold tight until death what you have loved, even if only for a morning,” is the starting inspiration for this story, exploring objects that become things: they transform into keys to our most intimate “self.” These, though buried, do not die: they remain carriers of meaning and are inextricably linked to us. The project is realized in two books: the larger one, Buried but Not Dead, analyzes these things and our personal interpretation of them; the other, The Pall, serves as a key to understanding the first, facilitating its comprehension. Laser printing and ink printing alternate and overlap on the papers used, including various types of different colors, GSK, and acetates.
