How can you tell a story with visual communication about something you can’t see? My personal experience of temporary vision loss in one eye led me to reflect on visual degeneration and the complications one might face, making me realize the importance and usefulness of creating an editorial and graphic project for awareness and prevention. The goal is to educate through a book that tells the story of a specific period: from the onset of retinal detachment to the end of convalescence. Using analysis data, graphic and photographic elements, the point of view is shared. The insert on the cover, when worn, reproduces the effect of retinal detachment experienced by the patient. The project is communicated through a book and a series of three posters that refer to its presentation and represent visual disturbances to raise awareness.
