“Manual” is an arts and crafts magazine developed as a Graphic Design graduation project at IED-SP in 2023. Its goal is to highlight Brazilian craftsmanship as an admirable art form and strengthen the connection between artisans and the public. The editorial approach includes research on the social and historical context of Brazilian crafts, emphasizing artisans’ stories and aspirations with sensitivity and respect.

The magazine’s design incorporates elements of Brazilian culture, drawing visual references from historical publications and everyday items to evoke identity and nostalgia. Its format optimizes paper use and is inspired by the iconic Revista Manchete. All typefaces are Brazilian-designed, creating a strong emotional connection with readers. The project aims to bring the public closer to artisans while maintaining a cohesive and inclusive visual identity that honors the artists’ work without overshadowing it.
