The graphic design project for the first book in the “Estou Refugiado” Collection shares the powerful stories of four women refugees in Brazil from Afghanistan, Mozambique, Ukraine, and Venezuela. Created by design students at the Istituto Europeo di Design (IED), the project visually conveys the emotional depth of their narratives. The design explores layout, illustration, typography, and graphic details, with key sentences highlighted using colors representing each author’s country. Photos of the women, taken at IED, are enhanced with graphic elements to emphasize their words. Printed on sustainable paper, the book aims to amplify the voices of refugees and foster empathy. This collaborative project involved active input from the women, resulting in a visually impactful and socially resonant design.
