This novel tells the story of Hanna, a student in Berlin a decade after the turn of the millennium, who gets involved in a relationship with a sugar daddy. A business with sex and emotional availability that is characterised by the inadequacy of both sides and inevitably leads to disaster. Hanna’s lover Isolde, an unsuccessful artist and old-school feminist who has turned her lesbianism into a political issue, is a witty commentator on this relationship. When Isolde tries to capitalise on her acquaintance with the influential money man, the love affair breaks up, as does her unbearable relationship with the sugar daddy, who demands the lie of a feigned love. The path to veritable prostitution is paved.
