Fila: TimelapseFrancesco Valtolina

Conceived by Angelo Flaccavento, with art direction by Francesco Valtolina and a foreword by Silvia Venturini Fendi, FILA: Timelapse traces the history of FILA through dynamic sequences of archive images, words and advertising campaigns.
FILA was the first sports brand to move from the playing field into the urban realm – and from there into the collective imagination. The stars and witnesses of this epochal change were the athletes themselves: generously sponsored, elegantly dressed and treated with the reverence reserved for rock stars. At the same time, FILA’s advertising language, including the powerful F-Box logo, was also innovative. These stories unfold along the pages of the book following an instinctive rather than chronological order. The result is a journey through a fashion and sports phenomenon. The texts highlight the sequence of images, offering reflections on the history of FILA and its cultural influence.
