POPOTUEXTRA
POPOTU
books and mobiles, fabric and paper, black and white, shadows and lights, lines and surfaces, materials and volumes…A whole world to explore.
Marion Bataille (graphic designer and author) and Fanny Millard (architect and author) created POPOTU, a variation for children aged 0 to 6 of their previous work UTOPOP, to project into a soft environment and dream in a play of lines and shapes, light and shadow, combining visual and tactile perceptions for a total experience.
POPOTU consists of 3 boxes, each containing 1 fabric book + 1 mobile book, published by EXTRA in a first limited edition of 30 numbered copies for each box.
The 3 mobile books are made of white paper, cut and folded, presented in a black envelope. By following the instructions, they take on volume to create hanging elements. Illuminated, they project lines of shadows on the surfaces that move as the mobile oscillates. This play of shadows and light multiplies the geometric shapes with the 3 different suspensions.
