Souffler de son souffleêkhô studio
Catalogue of the exhibition “Souffler de son souffle” (Breathing One’s Breath) from November 2021 to April 2022. It gathered 26 artists from different generations and artistic movements at the Fondation Vincent van Gogh Arles. Taking its title from the words Van Gogh addressed to Emile Bernard “it’s a matter of breathing one’s breath as long as one has breath” the exhibition takes a transhistoric route as it covers all the spaces within the fondation.
To showcase the diversity of the non-linear curatorial approach, the catalogue features different types of papers to separate sections of the publication. It is divided into five distinct parts, each containing a variety of texts and images. The cover includes a cut flap revealing the word “breathing”, and juxtaposes two papers of different thicknesses and colours. Fedrigoni’s “jade” paper echoes wind patterns and establishes a connection with some of the patterns used by Van Gogh.
