This book is the result of collaborative research on women botanical scientific illustrators from the 17th century to today, carried out by women from different backgrounds. The mixture of the views of designers, communicators and artists, along with insights from historians, writers and researchers, creates a balance between content and aesthetics. As a scientific work, it includes an appendix with biographies of some illustrators and an onomastic index, distinguished by Bible-type paper.
Careful choices as the slightly elongated format, colours, typography, colored edges, full-page illustrations, blind embossing on the cover and stylistic details such as the drop caps pays homage to the rich tradition of botanical illustrated books. The book jacket made of Imitlin and the Sirio cover were used to give resistence to the book, while allowing us to make use of the main colours of our project, as well as to show different techniques widely used in antique botany books.
