Competing Projects 2025
Graphic Metamorphoses#cartadesign
A hundred years after Kafka’s death, I wanted to commemorate the writer through a complex project, using “The Metamorphosis” as the starting point and posing a challenge: how can designers engage with this text by condensing it into a poster?
“The Metamorphosis” embodies the essence of the designer’s profession: transformation and adaptation are constants we continue to grapple with.
Sixteen designers created posters, focusing on specific passages from the story. The book not only features the posters but also includes an experiment I conducted using artificial intelligence. The posters were analyzed by ChatGPT, and the resulting text was provided to Midjourney to create additional posters. On one side, the creative poster; on the other, the “compiled” version generated by AI.
The catalog, a limited edition, is designed with various tactile papers, creating a series of different layers of interpretation.
