SANDCAFA – Central Academy of Fine Arts

SAND is an experimental book that focuses on technology and liberal art, internet and society. The name SAND comes from the silicon, pixels, time and individuals in social networks symbolized by sand. The first issue was launched with PLACE, a collaborative game on the online forum Reddit that could also be called a community experiment on sApril 1, 2017.

A pixel is a grain of sand, a page is a grain of sand, a moment of time is a grain of sand, and a person is also a grain of sand. Thousands of grains of sand build time, build books, build PLACE, build our virtual and real worlds. Individually you can create something, united you can create more. Flags and subcultural symbols that cross national borders, that is, the contemporary picture of the online world or the world of the future.
