Preserved in a Jar – Entanglements of Postnatural BeingsBauhaus-Universität Weimar

The Book Preserved in a Jar – Entanglements of Postnatural Beings examines the relationship between two Beings through Karen Barad’s concept of intra-action. Set in Existentia, a fictitious place, it emphasizes nature’s adaptability and challenges the idea of matter as passive objects. Instead, matter is portrayed as a dynamic, living network that shapes and reshapes the world. The project consists of two books printed in a limited edition of 200 copies using high-quality offset printing. The metallic blue color captures the materiality of glass and water, while Fedrigoni Splendorlux alternates between glossy and matte finishes to enhance the tactile and visual interplay of these materials. This publication is complemented by a glass and water installation and a corresponding reading performance, underscoring the work’s exploration of interconnectedness.
