To showcase Lock’s broad typographic family, we took inspiration from Piet Oudolf’s perennial garden philosophy. The result is a botanical ‘abecedarium’, a printed ecosystem of typographic explorations and possibilities.
“Each plant has its particular strenghts and its place in the garden, but shouldn’t restrict the others too much. Otherwise the balance in a garden will be disturbed. It’s important for the plants to work well together; like a community, or an ensemble of stage players. Each one performs in its own way, but in the end something interesting needs to emerge from it.” (Piet Oudolf)
