Competing Projects 2025

PAPIER. DAS POP-UP-BUCHAID Berlin

In the “Pop-Up” course, our 4th-semester students were fully engaged with both the theoretical and practical aspects of pop-up design. They learned about various applications, mechanical folding techniques, and the creation of precise die-cut drawings.

The students worked with FEDRIGONI paper and explored the broader topic of paper, including its history, production, properties, and uses. The project centers around the theme of paper, from its historical background and raw material cultivation to the different types of paper, their uses, certifications, and related products.

Each student created a pop-up page that will be bound into a collective pop-up book, which will remain at AID. A book cover will also be designed. The format is 190 x 230 mm, and each pop-up page is constructed as a color dummy, with flawless mechanics.
