The thesis project “Mineralia” is set within an interdisciplinary research context that spans the natural sciences, science communication, and design. The aim is to use visual communication to make complex concepts related to the mineral world and the Centovalli region more accessible and engaging, concepts that often evade perception. The book focuses on the synergistic integration of geology, geography, and design for scientific visualization, highlighting a collection of minerals. It begins with the idea of “scale” to narrate the landscape, moving from the vastness of the scenery to the wonder of the microscopic details of minerals. “Mineralia” represents the meeting point between designers and scientists, united by a shared vision: to convey the beauty of the Centovalli and the unexplored secrets of minerals, imparting scientific knowledge while preserving the enchantment and magic of a multiscale observation.
