Ladies of the ThamesVogue College of Fashion

“Ladies of the Thames” is a coffee table book I created, documenting the style of 10 women living in London. Each of their outfits serves as a way to explore how their fashion interacts with the city’s vibrant culture. The book celebrates girlhood and femininity, challenging the idea that an ultra feminine piece cannot be taken seriously as a work of art. Hand-drawn hearts throughout the book, including on the cover, add a personal touch without directly inserting myself into the project. The photography, shot on vintage digital cameras and 35mm film, captures each woman authentically without heavy editing. The interviews were paired with a mix of serif and sans-serif fonts to match the candidness of their stories.
Ultimately, this book highlights style as personal expression, showing each woman’s unique fashion choices reveal shared truths of being a young woman in London.
