Vlassak Verhulst came to us with the request to create a book that would completely blend into a stone. You were simply not allowed to see the book lying around. An ambitious challenge that immediately got us thinking as a printing partner.
We looked at the stone from all sides: scanning, photographing, editing – everything to ensure the texture and colour were perfectly reproduced in print. To get the final result completely right, we printed it on a special paper that had the same feel as the stone. Each print attempt brought us closer to our goal: making sure the book would blend seamlessly with the stone.
The finishing touch? An embossed print on the cover, making Vlassak Verhulst’s logo look as if it had been carved directly from the stone.
