Invitation cards for the British Museum’s Annual Trustees’ Dinner 2024 The British Museum

Each year, the British Museum hosts a dinner for supporters and thought leaders from the arts, academia, media, and politics.

To capture invitees’ attention and convey the exclusivity of the event, the Museum’s design studio created an elegant A5 card featuring an illustration inspired by 16th-century Chinese glazed high-relief tiles.

It was brought to life using a combination of paper choice, HP Indigo printing, and blind and gold embossing:

Sirio Pearl Oyster Shell’s pearlescent finish echoed the porcelain’s sheen, while blind embossing highlighted the object’s tactile qualities. Gold embossing added a layer of exclusivity.

The card, triplexed to a thickness of 1.5mm with turquoise edge painting, will be complemented by a matching programme booklet for the event.
