Understanding animals as part of society is the central message of biologist and philosopher Cord Riechelmann.
Riechelmann’s three extensive essays and numerous animal portraits telling of the social life of animals, their communication, emotions, and astonishing metamorphoses are accompanied by 50 works by Rosemarie Trockel, whose piece Leichtes Unbehagen 1 from 1985 gives the book its title.
Heller & C had the pleasure of entirely designing and producing this unique book opening our eyes to animals as fellow beings and to the similarities — and differences — between human and hon-human consciousness. A second issue is in the making for this year.
