Ai Weiwei. La Commedia Umana. Memento Mori - CatalogueTomomot
The catalogue for the exhibition Ai Weiwei. La Commedia Umana – Memento Mori, held in 2022 at the Abbey of San Giorgio Maggiore in Venice, reflects the dramatic interplay of light and darkness, life and death. The design is characterized by a stark black and white color scheme, symbolizing these dualities. To enhance this contrast and bring a dynamic energy to the layout, a vibrant ‘Water red’—a tone deeply rooted in Chinese culture—was incorporated. The diverse and dynamic layouts celebrate the complexity and experimental nature of Ai Weiwei’s work, while the use of silver print evokes the imagery of glass, adding a layer of depth and sophistication to the visual narrative.
