Manifesto Sankofa: Construindo o AmanhãCentro Universitário Senac

Manifesto Sankofa: Construindo o Amanhã is a newspaper inspired by São Paulo’s Black press of the 1970s. Distributed for free and aimed at a young audience, the project amplifies Black voices and strengthens the Black community in São Paulo through design and communication with a contemporary visual language. Printed digitally in a tabloid format on 55g/m2 newsprint made from renewable virgin fiber, the project balances refined design with accessible, sustainable production. The reduced color palette, with red prominently featured, reinforces its protest nature. The use of typefaces created by Black designers ensures authenticity, allowing every detail to reflect its core essence. Carefully selected images, edited to create a photocopy effect reminiscent of 1970s punk style, complement the visual narrative. This blend of graphic, typographic, and iconographic elements evokes strong emotions, making Manifesto Sankofa a dynamic, impactful piece.
