The bottle packaging of Qiang ethnic group's Za Wine SHANGHAI INSTITUTE OF VISUAL ARTS

This design is a bottle packaging of the Qiang ethnic group’s Za Wine souvenir in Sichuan Province, China.

The bottle shape of the Qiang ethnic group’s Za Wine in the design is derived from the watchtowers of the Qiang ethnic group in Sichuan Province, also known as “Qionglong”. The patterns on it are taken from the traditional patterns on the costumes and Qiang drums of the Qiang ethnic group. The design of the bottle cap is taken from the shape of the silver beast-face hairpin of the Qiang ethnic group. The shape of the bolt passing through the cap is from the Qiang flute. The pattern in the middle is the totem of the Qiang people – the sheep’s head. Qiang ethnic group’s Za Wine is a homemade wine that the Qiang people will share when entertaining guests, which is a warm greeting and a good blessing to the guests. This design hopes to express the hospitality, simplicity and sincerity of the Qiang people through the combination of these traditional Qiang elements and the representativ.
