Meet Our International Jury

The Jury comprises a panel of international experts in the design, communication and production world. The Jury will then assess the projects received in each category based on criteria that highlights the originality of the graphic design, functionality, accuracy of execution and appropriate use of papers and self-adhesives manufactured by Fedrigoni.

Silvana Amato

Silvana Amato has been working in the field of editorial graphics for over thirty years developing in particular projects in the cultural field.

Among her clients there are, just to name a few, the Laterza Publishers, the Accademia Nazionale di Santa Cecilia, the Palazzo delle Esposizioni of Rome, the Tipoteca Italiana and Nuova Consonanza. Her works are preserved in numerous international public collections.
She has taught at various universities including the Sapienza University of Rome, the Academy of Fine Arts in Frosinone, the Naba in Rome and the Iuav in Venice.

She currently teaches at the Isia of Urbino where, as a member of the Academic Council, she works alongside teaching and promotes the culture of the project. She curated the exhibition Segni esemplari for the Museo Bodoniano of Parma and she is one of the co-editors of the Scritture series. Silvana is a member of the Alliance Graphique Internationale.

Ivan Bell

Ivan started his career as a multidisciplinary graphic designer and became fascinated with consumer brand packaging for alcoholic beverages and luxury products.

For the past 20+ years he has worked alongside Kevin Shaw, founder of Stranger & Stranger, in building the award winning packaging consultancy and overseeing design from their locations in London, New York and San Francisco.

Stranger’s client base is diverse, from well known global brands to new start-ups. When not in the studio, Ivan is frequently found speaking at trade events on alcohol packaging design or judging on international packaging design competitions.

Ivan is passionate about brands that disrupt and stand out.

Simon Esterson

He is a publication designer. His studio, Esterson Associates, has worked on projects for The Guardian newspaper in London, the Neue Zürcher Zeitung in Zurich and Publico in Lisbon.

He was creative director of Italian architecture title Domus. He is Art Director of the international graphic design magazine Eye and since 2014 he has been the Art Director of Pulp magazine. Simon is a member of the Alliance Graphique Internationale and a Royal Designer for Industry.

Laurent Hainaut

French born Laurent Hainaut is an Industrial Designer by training.

Laurent is founder and President of forceMAJEURE Design, an Independent Creative Agency based in Brooklyn, NY.
Laurent has over 30 years of experience using design as a strategic force for premium and luxury brands.

His knowledge of international markets, brand creation, brand renovation & innovation has helped to make forceMAJEURE a leader in global Design.
His creative vision and strategic counsel have been valued across a broad range of industries and clients, including Unilever, Diageo, Campari, Gallo, Penfolds, L’Oreal, and many others.

Jiaying Han

One of the most famous designers in China. Born in 1961 in Tianjin, founder of HAN JIAYING DESIGN & ASSOCIATES, member of Alliance Graphique Internationale (AGI).

Jiaying Han has won the GOLD AWARD at Asia’s Most Influential Design Awards and the prize for the contribution to Sino French Cultural Exchanges, he was named one of China’s most influential designers by Forbes. His artworks have been collected by Victoria and Albert Museum, Museum für Kunst und Gewerbe Hamburg, Museum Fur Gestaltung Zurich and all sorts of international art institutions around the world (Including United Kingdom,
German, Swiss, Denmark and Japan).

In 2003, Jiaying held his Frontiers personal exhibition in France.
Between 2012 to 2014, he respectively held his solo exhibition Reflection Han Jiaying Design in Shenzhen, Beijing and Shanghai.
In 2012, he held positions as curator for the first China Design Exhibition.
In 2016, he was invited to participate in 50/50/50 special exhibition for the 50th anniversary of the International Poster Biennale in Warsaw.
In 2016, Judge for 2016 Red Dot Award in Germany.
In 2019, Judge of the New York ADC awards.

Fanette Mellier

Specializing in print design, Fanette Mellier (1977) creates mainly atypical works in the cultural field. Besides commissioned work, through which she handles several themes, Mellier invests herself in experimental projects that freely shuffle fundamental aspects of graphic design: typography, color, printing process and relation to public spaces. Her works have been displayed in numerous contemporary art museums and centres, such as the Centre Pompidou in Paris, the Stedelijk Museum Amsterdam and the Cooper-Hewitt Smithsonian Design Museum in New York.

Marion Trossat

Head of Purchasing and Packaging Development at INTERPARFUMS Paris

Marion Trossat is currently Head of Purchasing and Packaging Development at INTERPARFUMS Paris, a company she has joined in 2007.

Founded by Philippe Benacin and Jean Madar in 1982, Interparfums develops, manufactures and distributes prestige perfumes and cosmetics as the exclusive worldwide licensee for Coach, Jimmy Choo, Kate Spade, Moncler, Montblanc, Van Cleef & Arpels and some other brands. The company is also the owner of Lanvin fragrances and the Rochas brand.

Marion started her career in 2003 at Shiseido as engineer Project Manager for the Jean Paul Gaultier brand, after graduating from ESIReims with a degree in Packaging Engineering.

After 20 years of experience, and at the crossroads of Design, conception, industrialization and production, she has developed an expertise around the constituent materials of Luxury packaging such as glass, metal, plastic, zammac, paper and cardboard.

She is a recurrent member of the Jury of ‘Forme de luxe awards’, and of advisory board of LUXEPACK Monaco.
