The research takes shape through the analysis and study of the editorial format of the catalog within the artistic contexts that have developed since the second half of the twentieth century. The goal of this survey is to analyze these editorial projects, and to bring out the influence of the work done by the figures involved in the book’s production process. This underlines the will, the choices and the messages that curators, designers, artists, researchers and authors have wanted to convey through the press.
The exploration of this territory arises from the selection of statements by professionals linked to certain historical and artistic contexts, and connected to the world of exhibitions and editorial projects. The entire body of texts is made up of examples, definitions, reflections and case studies that allow us to interpret the publication as a meeting place and an exhibition site.
